Community Futures Heartland offers many services to new entrepreneurs and
existing business owners. We offer access to resource and
research material as well as provide general management
consulting. We assist clients in the development of business
plans and cash flow projections. We encourage clients to work
online with the Interactive Business Planner (IBP)
http://www.cbsc.org/ibp/.
For those who don't have a computer or Internet access,
Community Futures Heartland has produced a paper-based booklet of the IBP
format as well as offers fee internet access at our computer
work station during working hours. |
Once a
business plan has been developed, Community Futures Heartland
encourages clients to seek financing through traditional
lenders. We can also provide lending to qualifying clients, in
amounts up to $150,000 based on the number of employees in their
business.
Specialized loan funds were created
by Western Diversification (WD) to provide capital via the
Western Youth Entrepreneur Program and the Entrepreneur with
Disabilities Program (EDP).
Our
interest rate is set at Bank Prime plus 3% at the time of
signing the documents and is fixed for the term of the loan. Our
repayment terms are set at a maximum of 5 years. |

Our
Portage la Prairie office is also a regional site for
Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre (C/MBSC) where we have a
small library of resources available to lend to individuals.
This site also has access to the main location's (Winnipeg) wide
range of services including its telecentre, contacts and one of
the largest collections of business and trade information in
Canada. C/MBSC also has dedicated staff to assist with specific
information requests. |
This
program is a partnership between Community Futures Heartland and
Employment Manitoba (Manitoba Competitiveness, Training and
Trade Branch) where the objective is to assist eligible
unemployed individuals to achieve economic self sufficiency
through the creation of their own jobs. The program provides
participants with the training and supports necessary to start a
business while receiving financial benefits in the first months
of establishing a business. |
